US Open Fan Experience

Having previously worked on their hospitality suites at the US Open, we helped IBM create their first fan-facing experience in 2018. Powered by numerous data sources, it featured a massive video wall cycling between different data visualizations, showcasing key insights enabled by Watson AI and other IBM technologies. From up-to-the-minute player stats to proprietary “Keys to the Match” insights to AI video highlights for current matches to real-time fan engagement by country, all of the data shown was live and instantaneous.

Interactive “AI Highlights” stations made the data personal, allowing fans to experience the power of Watson firsthand, as it scored their motion and gestures as a player, gauged their vocal presence as a sports commentator, and tested their ability to distinguish different crowd sounds. By putting them directly into the process of evaluating data with Watson AI, fans experienced firsthand how IBM is changing the game, and changing the world.
